Solar Service and Rebate Information
There are several government rebates that are available to households that can be claimed. There is the solar hot water rebate, the solar panel rebate and the solar battery rebate. All Rebates are provided by Solar Victoria, and as a solar company, we take care of the Solar Homes Rebate Program for solar panels.

Solar Panel PV Installation
Houses that aren’t eligible for the Solar Homes Rebate program can still get solar power!
The process is a straight forward plan, design and install phase. Without the solar rebate to worry about, there are less documents to submit and process time is faster. The same qualified installers will be used for a Solar PV Installation as well for the best quality installation.
Solar PV Rebate
Solar Victoria is providing a rebate amount up to $1888 (for solar PV systems) for eligible households.
To be eligible for one of the Solar Panel Rebate you must:
- Be the owner-occupier of the property
- Owners have to have a combined household taxable income less than $180,000.
(This comes from the last years Australian Tax Office Notice assessment)
- You do NOT already have a solar PV system on property
- It is an existing property, valued under $3 million

Solar Interest-Free Loan:
Wanting to get a Solar Loan or Interest-Free payment system for your Solar Panels is a very simple to apply for. Eligible households can apply for an interest-free loan that is the equivalent to the amount of your rebate. An Interest-free loan must be paid within a 4 year period or sooner if you choose to do so.
You will be notified of your eligibility for a loan as part of the rebate application process via the Solar Victoria Portal. If you are eligible, you can select whether you would like to take up the loan option.

Rebate and loan amounts will be deducted from the cost of your solar system. This means you only have to pay an outstanding balance when the system is installed.

Solar for rental properties:
If you are renting a property, don’t worry! You can still apply for solar and a rental rebate. You can also benefit from a solar panel installation. Depending on who wants the solar, Renters or Landlords, there are two ways to go about acquiring solar.
The rebate starting at $1,888, is subject to eligibility simular to the solar PV rebate.
There are two paths to go down if you are looking at solar rent; Stream A and Stream B.
This way if an offer for a rental property with the landlord paying the remaining cost of a solar system. The rebate is available for $1,888 and is subject to “Solar Homes Landlord-Tenant Agreement” that needs to be signed.
Stream B is offered a rebate AND interest-free loan to landlords. This is eligible to tenants and landlords sign the “Solar Homes Landlord Rebate and Loan Agreement between Landlord and Tenant(s). In this rebate, tenant(s) will contribute to the cost of the system.
Rental properties owners are eligible to receive a solar rebate under the Program if the:
- tenants receive a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per annum (based on any of the last two year’s taxable income)
- Property is valued at under $3 million
- Does not already have solar panels (PV) installed
- There has been no prior participation in the Solar Homes program for that address
- A Solar Homes Landlord Rebate Agreement is signed by landlord and all tenant(s)
An applicant can apply only once as an owner-occupier (one of solar PV, batteries or hot water only) and once as a landlord (solar PV only).
A landlord and tenant must sign a Solar Homes Landlord-Tenant Agreement in order to participate in the rebate program.
Solar PV systems installed on rental properties prior to 1 July 2019 are not eligible for a rebate.
